September already?!

Wow, it's been a busy few days for us!

On Sunday we had breakfast with our friend Rachael who's moving from Reno to Germany, then scutttled over to a coffee shop down the street to meet up with Esme's cousin Ryan & his girlfriend Heather before they headed back home to Alaska, THEN circled down to meet Pete's friend Lizzie for a beer & a bite to eat in Lower Haight. That was all before going to a friend's house to watch 'Mad Men'.

As much as we would've loved to catch our breath on Monday, it wasn't in the cards. Lizzie & her friend Emily -- who are both on tour from Jackson, Mississippi -- were playing a show at a friend's place, & we had to get in on the action.

Here's a video Esme shot with her iPhone during Lizzie's grand finale, which turned into a super fun & awesome jam session with a bunch of friends (thanks again to James, Matt & the always awesome Blisses B for letting Pete borrow your cowbell).

Pete has been slacking off on the mix-making, but took to 8tracks last night & whipped up this little nugget to kickstart your Labor Day weekend on the best note possible. You don't even have to go anywhere! Stay right here & have a listen.

What are YOU Doing Tomorrow?!

Heyo! Esme here, after a couple weeks of quiet. I know, I've fallen off the map, but I'm trying to ramp up at the new job and there's SO much to learn! I'm so overwhelmed, in the best possible way.

Anyhoo, I'm back online to tell you about a reeeeaalllly super cool project that's taking place tomorrow, July 24th. Ridley Scott, Kevin Macdonald and the YouTube Community are putting on a global experiment to create a user-generated feature film that will premiere at Sundance in January. 24 hours of your life, as told by YOU. No, I'm not getting paid to advertise, but you betcha Pete and I will be participating! I know there will be some amazingly interesting, compelling footage of people sharing their stories. But...well, you've seen our weekend photos -- we're not crazy exciting, globetrotting, jumping out of planes or volunteering on the other side of the world. Nonetheless, we're going to use this experiment as a way to document a day in the life of US. Rain or shine, silly (most likely), whatever!

If you ARE crazy exciting, have something to say, something awesome going on tomorrow...or have nothing going on, but are just perpetually awesome, you should participate! It's not to late to grab your Flip & share your story!

Lookee here for more details!
And, whether you participate or not, have a wonderful weekend!

New Music Tuesday

Holy crap, I just downloaded the debut album from Perth, Australia three-piece Tame Impala (released today), & I'm impressed. Not to oversimplify it, but they sound like John Lennon fronting Cream on an episode of 'Scooby Doo'. I mean that in the best way possible.

Here's the video for their first single, "Solitude is Bliss".

Watch This: Rapping Dog Video

Hello readers, we hope you're sitting down for this. We're not trying to be Animal Video People here, but we've been laughing at this nearly every day (sometimes many times a day) for the past month straight. If you're super well-connected on the internets, you may have seen it already. If not, you're welcome.

Okay, so he's not exactly rapping, but it sounds like he's got something to say.

Please consider this an open invitation to share hilarious animal videos with us henceforth.

And, just in case his name gets the theme song stuck in your head, we'll save you the trip to YouTube:
