Weekend Stuffs

Hi pals!

Pete &  I took a drive on Saturday (foolishly without our cameras) to check out a wedding venue. Here's what we saw along the way:

We just can't get enough of that bridge. Isn't it spectacular?!

A sunny Saturday, a fun drive in the Headlands, dinner & drinks with friends & brunch with Dear Lora from Seattle put this weekend over the top! We hope you had a great one, too.

Birds and Blooms

How sweet are these letterpress prints by the local ladies at Dutch Door Press? These two (California and New York, natch) are part of a series called "Birds and Blooms of the 50 States". See the rest of the series on their website or at Little Paper Planes.

SF Summertime

We've had some beautiful weather this week. When the sun's out & the fog blows away, the mood changes -- smiling people in their sundresses and shorts (in Pete's case -- jorts) line the sidewalks and fill the parks. It's quite something, SF Summertime.

Although the clouds are back now, here are some iphone snippets from my walk home on Tuesday (our hottest day YET).

FUNemployment

As you know by now, dear readers, I have been job hunting since my unfortunate layoff in early July. But I have great news: I'll be back in the work force Monday! I got a job with Schwartz Communications (PR, Marketing, etc) & I'm as thrilled as I am relieved! I know I'm a lot luckier than most, as I was only unemployed for a month. But it felt like a LOT longer.

That said, I've successfully shifted from unemployment to FUNemployment, & I've got the pictures to prove it! Our pal Eray came to SF from New Orleans last Thursday to shoot the Summers-Frederick wedding & she's been kickin' around town with me on random adventures all week. Here are some shots from an early morning Pork Store Cafe breakfast & foggy photo shoot at Twin Beaks & Ocean Beach.

30 in 30: Item #12

Ride on the Seward Street Slides.

Ever wish you could feel just like a kid again, if only for a minute? If you answered "yes" to that question, we have a remedy.

Tucked away, just off a couple of twisty, steep streets, in the Upper Market/Castro neighborhood are a pair of concrete slides. After a few quick trips down, you'll forget your worries.

The look says it all.

Okay, since we like you, the slides are located at Seward & Douglass streets, between 19th & 20th.

30 in 30: Item #26

Run the Lyon Street Steps. Phew!

Pete's added these to his weekly routine, and I said I would start going with him. It's really not so bad...once your quads go numb.

Lap 4...
aaaannnnd DONE!

The view makes the pain totally worth it.

30 in 30: Item #2

Eat at Bar Crudo. DONE! And ohhh my, was it worth it! As Pete's mentioned, he doesn't like raw fish, but will oblige me on very special occasions. Luckily, Bar Crudo has lots of raw AND cooked options (+ a great happy hour), and we both left incredibly happy.

I'm going to stop now, because it sounds like I'm writing a Yelp review...
Isn't this the prettiest fish you ever did see?
