We've been seeing some amazing examples of creative reuse lately. Sure, these items are not exactly practical, or inexpensive, for that matter, but you've gotta admit...they are definitely awesome.
First up, we've got a sweet chair made from an old junked suitcase. Katie Thompson of South African company
REcreate makes these, along with an array of other cool seating & tables. This one in particular is beautiful, & we sorta wish it were in the corner of our livingroom. Unfortunately, it's already been sold.
Next! C'mon, how ridiculously sweet is this? It's
a boombox made from an old suitcase! It's made by a guy who goes by
Mr. Simo, & he seems prolific (there are a ton of them up on his site, & they sell very quickly). Again, not cheap but definitely extremely awesome.
Pete's been kind of obsessed about turning everything we own into plant homes, like these at
poetic home.
Lastly, Canadian designer Adrian Johnson's
couches made out of car seats & an old refrigerators seem a bit over the top, as creative reuse goes (we love his last name, though). Please, no need to get us one of these. Our apartment is way too small &, well, it's interesting for sure but we're not sure how we feel about it. If it were ALSO a fridge, that would be a different story. Still, we tip our proverbial cap to you, Johnson! That's one less car seat/old fridge in the landfill!
