Weekend Stuffs

Howdy friends & Happy Holidays! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Esme's folks' in the Central Valley. Some highlights- Molly the Puppy's debut, so much awesome food, catching up with old (& new) friends, thrifting for Pyrex (Thanks, Anna) & the arrival of Esme's engagement ring! YAAAAY! We couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving present.

We're looking forward to the festive weeks to come & spending more time with friends & family. xo p+e

Weekend Stuffs, Diwali Edition

On Saturday, our good friend Anisha invited a big crew of friends to her mom's house in Los Gatos (near San Jose) for a Diwali celebration, a Hindu holiday that you can read more about here. Mama Kumra served all 20+ of us an amazing, gigantic feast of Indian food.

Prior to eating, we turned on all the lights in the home & shared a prayer, asking Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Ganesh, the God of auspicious beginnings, to bring prosperity and well-being. After our feast, we all went outside to light candles & sparklers.Unfortunately, we didn't get any photos of the epic pool party that went down after our food settled.

What a way to mark the start of the holiday season - with good friends & a festival of lights! Thank you, Kumras, for a wonderful celebration!

Enjoy Your (Long) Weekend!

Happy Friday, and Happy Labor Day Weekend!

P+E totally forgot it was Labor Day until early this week, so, sadly, no plans were made.
{Remember last year we were HERE...& wowee, what a way to spend a weekend!}
We're thinking of starting a tradition where every Labor Day Weekend, we must do something outside, preferably in the mountains. This lovely project by Jelle Martens definitely helps to inspire.
Wherever you end up, Enjoy your long weekend!

Weekend Stuffs

We hope you had a great weekend, and a happy Independence Day! For the Tigers, this weekend was carefree, silly, fun, filled with friends & sunny San Francisco weather...exactly how we wanted to end one chapter and start another.

AND, we're really enjoying Esme's new toy. There's still a lot to learn, of course. But it's so nice to shoot with a new camera! Thanks, Mom&Dad!

Here are the latest snippets from P+E's misadventures in San Francisco:

This handsome fellow, Charlie Brown, is in the lobby of my former employer. I'll miss him.

MLK Day

It's cold, rainy and lovely here in San Francisco on this Monday afternoon. Today is the birthday of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To honor the day, Esme's company closed their doors. Unfortunately, Pete's did not.

So he'll be coming home to warm chocolate chip cookies & chicken enchiladas (probably in that order, too).  Bonus, Emma's coming for dinner! We love us some Emma Time.

Enjoy your day. Reflect. Take time for yourself and the ones you love.

Weekend Stuffs

I'm sitting on the livingroom couch in my train conductor pajama pants while Esme attempts to put her toes into something called a "Flex-Tastic" next to me (don't ask...it's supposed to be therapeutic or something).

We just had a nice, quiet date together...

(mmm-mmm, Abacus!) & are about to start up a movie.
Hallelujah for some down/alone-time!

My parents & brother have been in town since Christmas Eve, & it's been non-stop go, go, go (& a little bit of ho, ho, ho).
It was a very quiet weekend here in The City. It felt like nearly everyone had left town for the holidays.
Parking on Valencia?? Really???
What better time for The Boy's family to come in for a visit?

As usual, we're going to let the photos do the talking. They don't tell the *whole* story, but they'll give you a taste.

We opened giant presents....

We went to the MoMA...

The top of the MoMA...
...& the top of the Marriott look like spaceships.

We texted with friends in bars...

Point Reyes is lovely this time of year.
We're so glad you came to visit, Johnsons!
We hope you had a great time in San Francisco!
